Align’s new YallaGive online fundraising campaign and donation of AED 22,000 aims to inspire contributions to this national food drive

Dubai, UAE; May 9, 2021: Align Technology, Inc. (Nasdaq: ALGN), a leading global medical device company engaged in the design and manufacture of the Invisalign system, iTero intraoral scanners, and exocad CAD/CAM services for orthodontic and restorative dentistry, today announced support for the 100 Million Meals humanitarian campaign, the largest food distribution campaign in the region, launched by HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, UAE Vice President & Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai. The 100 Million Meals campaign was launched as an extension of the 10 Million Meals campaign for communities impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic across the UAE.

YallaGive is an online fundraising platform that allows sponsoring companies to enable employees and partners to contribute directly to specific causes. Align’s new YallaGive campaign goal is to deliver 10,000 meals for disadvantaged individuals and families. In addition to the contributions raised from employees and partners, Align has donated an additional €5,000 (AED 22,000), which is equal to as many as 22,000 meals. The campaign underscores Align Technology’s commitment to creating meaningful impact in the communities it serves, including the UAE in its humanitarian efforts to help those most impacted by the devastating effects of the pandemic, both regionally and globally.

Angelo Maura, Align Technology general manager, Middle East and Africa (MEA), said: “We are honoured to support the 100 Million Meals humanitarian campaign, an exceptional initiative that has the power to deliver real and meaningful impact. In the wake of a global pandemic, it is more important than ever to make positive contributions that benefit vulnerable people across the MEA.

The YallaGive campaign has already gained a strong response from Align employees, with initial contributions indicating the organisation is on track to surpass its target. With contributions starting from AED 1 to provide one meal, Align partners and employers can contribute by simply clicking a link and donating as much as they want. Participation is voluntary, and donations can be made anonymously.

Maura continued, “Our contribution to this campaign underlines our commitment to empowering our people and partners to contribute and show our gratitude and spirit of togetherness. The response we’ve had from our employees and partners to the campaign has been heart-warming. We are grateful for the support of our employees, partners and Invisalign doctors in the region who are helping us reach our goal.”

Most recently, Align Technology achieved the significant milestone of 10 million patients treated with Invisalign clear aligners - the most advanced clear aligner system in the world. In celebration of this achievement, the company has launched a global campaign called “10 Million Smiles.10 Million Thanks” to highlight the transformative power of Invisalign treatment through the eyes of Invisalign patients. As part of the campaign, Align Technology also donated $10 million to the Align Foundation donor-advised fund to support organisations whose visions tie closely to its own: transforming smiles and changing lives, supporting and educating teens, and empowering its doctor customers through partnerships with learning institutions and foundations. In addition to the $10 million contribution to the Align Foundation, Align is partnering with Brazilian NGO Por 1 Sorriso (“For 1 Smile”) to help create even more smiles by sponsoring their mission of providing better health and well-being through access to dental and medical care in underprivileged communities.
