Align Technology, a leading global medical device company that designs, manufactures, and sells the Invisalign system of clear aligners, iTero intraoral scanners, and exocad CAD/CAM software for digital orthodontics and restorative dentistry, organised a series of specialised educational workshops in the Middle East to accelerate the digitisation of the dental practices to enhance patient experience.
Five dedicated workshops, held on the digital workflows with intra-oral scanning in Abu Dhabi and Dubai in the UAE and Riyadh in Saudi Arabia, were attended by 150 dental professionals, while the educational sessions were led by Dr. Ingo Baresel, President of DGDOA (German association of Intraoral Scanning).
Angelo Maura, General Manager Middle East & Africa at Align Technology, said: “The specialised workshops organised across three cities in the Middle East underline our commitment to promoting digitisation across the dental practice, as a credible pathway to enhance the patient experience. Our goal was to engage with dental professionals, showcase the latest technology, and provide insights on how digitisation will enable them to provide exceptional care.”
Dr. Baresel added: “The iTero Element 5D Plus intraoral scanner offers breakthrough technology that enables dentists to visualise the patient’s tooth wear, movement and gingival recession over time and facilitate chairside treatment communication. Training in this advanced technology will not only add to their professional skills but also enable them to have hands-on training on a wide range of restorative scanning strategies including implants and prepped tooth scanning. These educational workshops play a central role in bringing digital-first solutions to dental care, in turn, benefiting patients and dentists alike.”
Align Technology’s iTero intraoral scanners have been designed to support doctors in providing clinical excellence, increasing efficiency, and growing their practice while improving patient experience. The company has been supporting digitisation across dental practices and providing dentists with accurate technology at their fingertips for over 25 years.
The workshop builds on Align Technology’s continued commitment to provide in-depth training programs for dentists, having only recently hosted their annual flagship event, the Align Scientific Symposium in Dubai, attended by 900 dental professionals, including 150 on site and over 800 virtually.
A pioneer in digital orthodontics, Align Technology brings the latest advances in digital dentistry with the use of 3D printing, creating the opportunity for trained professionals across the world to straighten millions of smiles in a gentle, non-invasive manner. Align Technology invests approximately USD $300million into R&D and innovation annually. Align Technology operates across more than 120 markets, including the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, and Oman.
