More than 100 leading dentists, including general practitioners and orthodontists, attended the 2018 Invisalign MEA forum at the JW Marriott Marquis Hotel in Dubai on October 11-12, 2018. Over the two days, the attendees heard from a number of experienced Invisalign trained doctors, who delivered in-depth case studies and lectures on treating with the Invisalign portfolio and showcased how the Invisalign system had helped support their practice growth and revolutionise the dental sector.

Hosted by Align Technology, a global medical device company engaged in the design, manufacture and marketing of the Invisalign system and iTero intraoral scanner, the Invisalign MEA Forum speakers included top Invisalign speakers from across the globe, as well as leading dental experts from across the region.

Dr. Sam Daher, from Canada, talked about his experience in treating with the Invisalign system and iTero scanner; Dr. Joerg Schwarze, from Germany, covered teenager treatments while Dr. Waddah Sabouni, from France, treated attendees to a talk about clear aligner biomechanics.

The theme of the forum – ‘Digital Evolution with the Invisalign System and iTero Scanner’ – highlighted Align’s pioneering solutions and how they have contributed to the transformation of dental industry.

Amongst innovative solutions showcased was the application of Align’s proprietary ClinCheck software, as well as demos and talks on the next generation iTero Element Intraoral Scanner, which was introduced to the Middle East earlier this year. Synonymous with high-precision intraoral scanning, iTero Element provides improved 3D imaging technology, driving intuitive operation and exceptional visualisation capabilities. It is now available to general dentists and orthodontists across the UAE, Saudi Arabia and Kuwait.

Participants also learned more about Invisalign Comprehensive with mandibular advancement feature, the first clear aligner solution for Class II correction for teenage patients. It combines the benefits of the most advanced clear aligner system in the world with the features for moving the lower jaw forward. Its benefits include treatment efficiency due to using single-appliance solution as well as  increased patient comfort, among others.

Apart from strong focus on innovative solutions, practice efficiency and patient experience, the event also featured interactive breakout sessions to discuss ways in which the doctors can better market their practices and drive consumers to their clinics.

Speaking at the event, Mawlid Chaoui, Align Technology general manager, MEA, said: “With over 5,8 million patients treated with the Invisalign system worldwide, Align Technology has been at the forefront of the digital revolution that is helping transform the dental sector and drive the digital innovation forward. The Forum is a great opportunity for dental practitioners to see how the industry is evolving and how they can benefit from these advances”.

He continued: “Align is bringing Invisalign speakers from across the world to highlight their experience and expertise that will be of great value to the participants. From our history to the future that we envisage, every major aspect of the Invisalign system was highlighted at the Forum.”
