The Caries Risk Management (CARMEN) project is an ongoing observational longitudinal study that is being carried out among dentists in four European countries: Bulgaria, Greece, Poland and Portugal. As there is only limited data available on the implementation of caries risk management guidelines in dental practices in Europe, the project aims to describe dental professionals’ adherence to these guidelines and assess the impact of their strategies on caries experience in patients. Here, the researchers present the cohort formation of their study.

Today, the organisers made a difficult decision and announced that the world’s leading dental trade fair will not take place from 10 to 13 March 2021 as planned but will be postponed to 22 to 25 September instead.

GENEVA, Switzerland: The World Health Organization’s (WHO) handling of the global pandemic has brought it more criticism than praise, and dentists are among those who have denounced public health guidance from the UN agency. According to dental associations contacted by Dental Tribune International (DTI), WHO has been the subject of unbalanced media coverage relating to its guidance on dental practice.

When initial plans to host this year’s in-person events were disrupted, CAPP swiftly redirected its efforts towards the organisation of two of the largest-ever virtual, scientifically accredited dental conferences instead―eight days, 56 continuing education (CE) credits, over 90 speakers from six continents―from 12 to 15 November and 19 to 22 November. The two conferences are part of the CAPP November Dental Livestream, which is being broadcast from 5 to 28 November.
