Course Structure

This course consists of five parts - four half-day theory and one full-day hands-on training:

  • The theory (approx. 3-4 hours) will be delivered to the delegates via Online Virtual LIVE Classroom Coaching on 28-29 May & 04-05 June 2020.
  • The hands-on training (full-day) will be delivered face-to-face in the autumn of 2020 (date to be announced).

We live in an exciting age in which technology is rapidly changing the world, and there’s no question that the world of dentistry is also undergoing rapid changes. The more that dental professionals succeed in the goal of improving patients’ lives, the more the expectations of patients increase even higher. They seek and expect excellent results and demand procedures with little or no pain. Laser systems are quickly becoming as common as smart-phones in the daily life of dentists. As with all devices that we depend on daily, it’s quality that truly matters the most – quality that goes hand in hand with ease of use, wrapped in the world’s best laser technology, which is Erbium laser technology.

This laser workshop is geared towards modern innovative dentists, which would like to integrate dental Erbium laser therapy in their therapy spectrum. By using innovative therapy concepts with the support of a laser, you will not only satisfy your patients but also provide high-quality advantages against your colleague dentists. Furthermore, you will create new business potentials for your dental clinic.

Curriculum and Course Targets

Theoretical backgrounds, clinical indication and intensive skill training are integral parts of the workshop. Biophysical basics is integrated into the course program. All relevant clinical indications of Erbium lasers will be showed and demonstrated.

Furthermore, the technical steps towards a responsible usage of Erbium lasers will be presented and demonstrated. You will understand the ratio of laser therapy in the theoretical part and you will learn the clinical indications in the skill training. After finishing this workshop, you will be able to treat your patients adequate and successful!

Content

Knowledge of structure, function and handling of Erbium lasers

  • Responsible usage of Erbium lasers
  • Er:YAG and Er,Cr:YSGG
  • Scientific background and clinical indications
  • Understanding of biophysical backgrounds (absorption and transmission in special tissues) of Erbium lasers
  • Correct and safe usage of all clinical relevant indications
  • Standardized treatment protocols for the different treatment indications, like soft tissue surgery and oral surgery, periodontics, peri-implantitis, endodontics, laser bleaching, orthodontics, pain therapy and caries therapy
  • Hands on training: Preparation in enamel and dentine, generation of a retentive surface, canal decontamination, apicectomy, soft-tissue cut with short pulses, soft-tissue cut with long pulses, open curettage, crown lengthening and bone preparation performed on sheep heads

After successful participation you will receive a certification of participation from AALZ – at RWTH Aachen University Campus – Aachen, Germany

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

What is the price and how do I pay?
You pay 3,960 AED ($ 1,080) + 5% VAT now for the theory (online) part of the course. You pay 2,200 AED ($ 600) + 5% VAT two weeks before the hands-on training (face-to-face) in the autumn 2020.

Is there a discount?
Yes, for the online theory of the course, you pay 10% less of the standard price.

What about the CME?
Everything you attend online will have the usual local GCC and international (ADA CERP) accreditation for CME hours.

What happens if I cannot attend on the scheduled date and time for the theory online?
The Online Virtual LIVE Classroom Coaching will be recorded and available to you anytime, anywhere. If you cannot join, you can watch it at your convenience.

What if I have questions during the Online Virtual LIVE Classroom Coaching?
You will be able to address any questions directly to the speaker via the chat function because this is a live session.

When will the hands-on training (face-to-face) take place?
It is planned for the autumn of 2020.

How would I remember what was taught online in terms of theory right before the hands-on?
You will have access to the recorded video at all times, so you can watch it again before you come for the hands-on training.

What else do I get?
You will receive an access to the Online Library of AALZ – at RWTH Aachen University for this particular day of teaching.
