DUBAI, UAE: Despite the effects of the global COVID-19 pandemic on its event business, the Centre for Advanced Professional Practices (CAPP) is committed to continuing to offer its two annual world-class scientific conferences, supporting dental professionals globally. When initial plans to host this year’s in-person events were disrupted, CAPP swiftly redirected its efforts towards the organisation of two of the largest-ever virtual, scientifically accredited dental conferences instead―eight days, 56 continuing education (CE) credits, over 90 speakers from six continents―from 12 to 15 November and 19 to 22 November. The two conferences are part of the CAPP November Dental Livestream, which is being broadcast from 5 to 28 November.
CAPP was founded in 2005 in Dubai in the UAE by Dr Dobrina Mollova with the purpose of delivering excellence in CE in dentistry in the Middle East, Africa, Asia and beyond. CAPP is an American Dental Association Continuing Education Recognition Program recognised provider.
This is an anniversary year for CAPP, which is holding its 15th flagship conference in CAD/CAM and digital dentistry. The event was initially planned in partnership with Expo 2020 Dubai, a gathering expected to attract over 25 million visitors to Dubai. However, owing to the ongoing global pandemic, 2020 has proved to be one of the most challenging years in world history. As CAPP considers assuring the health and safety of attendees of its conferences its foremost responsibility, it will make live streaming of its annual events via the Zoom platform available to dental professionals worldwide. Attendees can tune in free of charge and take part in a multitude of programmes until 28 November.
15th CAD/CAM & Digital Dentistry Conference from 12 to 15 November (28 CE credits)
This edition of the conference will prove that dentistry is transforming at groundbreaking speed towards digitalisation, including advancements in digital dentistry procedures, techniques and materials. Among these wide-ranging developments are digital dental impressions, intra-oral scanners, dental prosthodontics, imaging systems, smile design, orthodontics, treatment planning and materials for CAD/CAM systems.
12th Dental Facial Cosmetic Conference from 19 to 22 November (28 CE credits)
The term “cosmetic dentistry” was coined in the 1990s, but it actually dates back to 3000 bc. Thanks to modern technologies and the rapid evolution of materials and techniques, cosmetic dentistry is entering a new epoch, cosmetic treatments now covering a wide range: tooth whitening, laser procedures, composite fillings, dental bonding, veneers and dental implants. Topics at the conference will include:
- treatment planning as the key to success;
- the importance of the relationship between dental aesthetics and function;
- facial and dental aesthetics;
- digital dentistry;
- index techniques;
- worn dentition; and
- orthodontic treatment and maxillofacial surgery.
The Dental Hygienist Seminar will take place on 20 November and run in parallel to other events on that day.
CAPP November Dental Livestream from 5 to 28 November
In addition to the two conferences, over 25 multidisciplinary hybrid hands-on training courses are taking place, catering to dental professionals and showcasing the latest trends in restorative, aesthetic and digital dentistry, as well as implantology, facial aesthetics, orthodontics, endodontics, dental technologies, dental hygiene and product innovations.
CAPP is inviting all dental professionals to attend these very important virtual scientific gatherings in November. All details regarding the events are available at https://cappmea.com/conference-exhibition-list.
