The morning session will be a lecture on advanced treatment planning (with Prof. Paul Tipton) Stabilisation and will cover the following:

The afternoon session will be a hands on practical which will include treatment planning on study casts (with Adam Toft & Richard Malloch)

The principles of occlusion in advanced restorative dentistry

The morning session will consist of a seminar on occlusion and will cover the following topics:

  • The 5 principles of occlusion
  • RAP V centric relation
  • Mutually protected occlusion
  • The importance of anterior guidance
  • Non- working side interferences
  • Posterior stability

The afternoon session will be a hands on practical (Adam Toft and Richard Malloch)
This will cover face bows and jaw registration

Tooth preparation in advanced restorative dentistry

COURSE OUTLINE
The morning session will consist of a seminar on tooth preparation followed by a lecture which will cover:

  • Two handed preparation
  • Magnification
  • Choice of burs
  • Laboratory Support
  • Speed increasing hand pieces
  • 4 stages of tooth preparation
  • Occlusal reduction
  • Axial walls
  • Margin choice
  • Resistance & retention form

The afternoon will be a hands on practical on phantom head models in two groups and will cover:

  • Anterior & posterior PFM crown preps
  • Use of prep matrics
  • Shillinburg wings
  • Impression techniques
  • Retraction cords
