The figures speak for themselves. Last year’s AEEDC Dubai attracted over 70,000 participants and featured more than 5,000 dental brands. The world’s largest annual scientific dental conference and exhibition, the event is known for its global influence and offers an unparalleled educational experience. Ahead of this year’s show, Anas Al Madani, vice chairman and group CEO of organiser INDEX Holding, spoke to Dental Tribune International about why AEEDC Dubai 2025 will be a milestone event.

Mr Al Madani, what key highlights can attendees look forward to at AEEDC Dubai 2025, and how do you plan to build on the success of last year’s event?
We are committed to offering attendees unique and enriching experiences that provide valuable learning and networking opportunities. As we build on the success of 2024, we are excited to offer them an even more dynamic and immersive experience.

A key highlight of this year’s event is certain to be direct engagement with the latest advancements in dental technology. The Digital Arena will feature presentations about exhibitors’ latest technologies, exploring pivotal topics such as digital versus analogue dentistry, the clinical applications of augmented reality and the role of artificial intelligence (AI) in the future of dentistry. A total of 46 sessions will take place over the three exhibition days.

We are also excited to announce the addition of four new halls in response to growing demand. This will provide further space to accommodate the increasing number of exhibitors and delegates, enhancing the overall experience.

A further highlight will be the expansion of our international focus. This year, we will feature 15 official country and regional pavilions: Brazil, Switzerland, Germany, Turkey, South Korea, China, Spain, Italy, the US, Asia-Pacific, Eastern Europe, Russia, Japan, Pakistan and France. At these pavilions, attendees will see the latest innovations and solutions from these territories, greatly enhancing the global scope of the event. We are honoured to have Kuwait as the guest of honour this year, highlighting the country’s strong ties with the UAE.

For me personally, the VR/AR Technologies Forum will certainly be a highlight. The use of virtual reality (VR) in digital dentistry is emerging rapidly and offers numerous advantages. Understanding VR and digital technologies is becoming essential for dental professionals, given that they help to improve treatment planning, enhance patient care and communication, and reduce patient anxiety. Furthermore, the technology serves as an excellent tool for advancing training and education, and this in turn leads to better surgical precision and a reduction in complications.

Furthermore, the NYU Dentistry Leadership Forum will offer invaluable leadership sessions for dentists, empowering them to become effective communicators, negotiators and team leaders with improved conflict resolution skills who are able to advocate for better oral health in their communities. These leadership skills are essential not only for professional success but also for having a positive impact on oral health in their communities.

This year marks the introduction of Digital Dentistry. What can you tell us about it?
I am very excited to announce the launch of this new forum at AEEDC Dubai 2025. Digital Dentistry 4.0 is a new area of the exhibition dedicated to cutting-edge digital dentistry products and solutions. Located in Sheikh Rashid Hall, it will feature over 75 leading global brands and showcase the rapid growth in digital dental technologies. The forum underscores our commitment to leading the digital revolution and showcasing technologies that are transforming patient care and clinical workflows. The addition of Digital Dentistry 4.0 ensures that AEEDC Dubai 2025 will truly be a milestone event!

What other trends in the dental market will be addressed?
This year’s conference is being held under the theme “Education and innovation transfer”, and the exhibition has the motto “Leading the dental world into the future”. Dentists are always eager to join us at AEEDC Dubai in order to stay informed about the latest advancements in the field. Leading companies in the industry look forward to the event as a stage to launch their latest products. What’s more, the Start-Up by AEEDC zone will provide a dedicated space for emerging companies to showcase their innovative ideas and solutions.

Our exhibition also emphasises emerging trends in cosmetic dentistry, including the rising demand for aligner therapy and tooth whitening procedures. This also reflects growth of these treatments in the local Middle Eastern markets. Due focus will also be given to AI dental technologies, which are growing in number and increasingly being recognised for enhancing diagnostic accuracy, personalised treatment plans and the overall quality of patient care.

We are also committed to promoting preventive care and raising awareness of comprehensive oral health. By presenting the latest trends and innovations, we aim to empower dental practitioners to educate patients about the importance of preventing dental issues before they arise. Also of note is the ongoing shift towards biocompatible and eco-friendly materials in dentistry, which reflects a growing interest in sustainable healthcare practices. By showcasing these trends, AEEDC Dubai is also advocating for progress in the worldwide delivery of oral care.

The Middle East continues to play a significant role in shaping global dental trends. How does AEEDC reflect and support advancements in dentistry within the region?
AEEDC Dubai has always offered something new to global dental professionals. This year, we are proud to see the remarkable results of our efforts to attract delegates and trade visitors from Central Asia. The region’s growing interest in dental advancements and innovations has played a significant role in enhancing our outreach. The Middle East is becoming increasingly influential in shaping global dental trends, and AEEDC Dubai plays a pivotal role in reflecting and supporting advancements in the region; however, AEEDC Dubai’s impact extends further. The event serves as a platform to highlight transformative technologies like CAD/CAM systems—especially 3D printing—AI and digital imaging that are revolutionising the global dental industry.
