SINGAPORE: MiCD (Minimally Invasive Cosmetic Dentistry) Global Network has announced the first-ever virtual MiCD Dentistry Regional Symposium to take place on 02-04 September 2021. The comprehensive 3-day scientific conference is organized by CAPP in partnership with Shofu and will cater to dental professions from the Asia Pacific region.

The MiCD Regional Symposium – Livestream event will be held on 02-04 September 2021 with two evening sessions (19:00 - 22:30 Singapore time) and one afternoon session (13:00 - 16:30 Singapore time) to cater to the different time zones.

The MiCD movement has continued to gain momentum globally amongst clinicians, successfully adopting minimally invasive treatment techniques and principles which have revolutionized the approach to cosmetic dentistry over time, with emphasis on preservation of tooth structure while providing holistic patient care.

This virtual symposium features a select panel of experts and thought leaders who will share insights on the latest minimally invasive clinical trends and restorative techniques that can be immediately adopted to enhance the spectrum of dental services provided in routine clinical practice.

Dental professionals interested to attend can expect to learn new techniques and clinical applications of direct restorations using Bioactive composites, adopt minimally invasive cosmetic dentistry and increase profitability. MiCD Global Network will allow participants to join the MiCD movement and become a member in order to learn, share and interact with like-minded dental professionals.

"MiCD core principles are the guiding lights in our dental practice and forms the core philosophy which steer the  clinical decisions we make daily. It would be very difficult to practice without this." Dr. Ronnie Yap, Singapore

"MiCD means conservation and preservation while helping patients achieve the smiles they desire with a conscious effort on preserving their oral health.

It has definitely made me rethink my approach in my practice and made it more patient centric - trying my best to give the most benefits to my patients  by relying on techniques and selecting evidence-based materials- like Shofu Bioactive composites with S-PRG filler technology, while constantly updating my knowledge about emerging concepts and trends in dentistry - particularly in adhesive dentistry to have a deeper understanding of what I do and why I do them." Dr. Kimberly Fajardo, (Philippines)

"Much has changed from a time when the beauty standard of smiles would require extensive preparations to the present era of minimalism and biologic preservations. MiCD (Minimally Invasive Cosmetic Dentistry) has changed the perception of a beautiful smile not only in the eyes of a dentist but also through the eyes of our patients. In my daily clinical practice and even in the treatment discipline that pass on to my students, I keep the “Do No Harm” concept in mind. I now perceive a beautiful smile as one that is nature-mimetic, healthy and sound – revolutionizing the template-driven, mono coloured, heavily reduced restorations." Dr. Cez Margaret Acero, Philippines
