KUWAIT CITY, Kuwait: As reported by the Kuwait News Agency, Kuwaiti dental students have undertaken a humanitarian mission in the remote villages of Nepal, providing vital assistance to over 900 individuals in need. Under the title “we make a smile”, the initiative was executed in collaboration with the Mercy and Mission organisation.
In a statement released by Kuwait University, Dr Rashed Al-Azmi, associated professor and chairman of the orthodontic unit at the university’s faculty of dentistry, said that these Kuwaiti students conducted medical examinations and treatments, which encompassed surgeries, dental procedures and blood tests to assess blood pressure and diabetes.
This humanitarian journey proved highly successful in alleviating the struggles of the underprivileged locals. In addition to medical care, the students offered valuable medical advice, distributed toys and gifts to children residing in these remote villages. The team comprised 17 dedicated students.
