Whereas this means that much is known about their oral health status, there have been relatively few studies measuring consideration for the oral pain that young Swedish dental patients undergo and its treatment. A new study has shed light on this topic, suggesting that dental professionals with more experience tend to be more alert to the needs of young patients.

LONDON, UK: As world leaders are continuing to roll out vaccination programmes and encouraging the public to get vaccinated, one thing is clear: there are still people who refuse or delay their vaccinations. Healthcare workers are a priority group since they run an elevated risk of infection. However, in a recent study, researchers found that vaccine hesitancy prevails in around a quarter of healthcare workers in the UK and that, compared with their white British colleagues, some ethnic minority groups show more resistance to getting vaccinated.

JERUSALEM, Palestine: A May 2020 survey asked dentists located in the West Bank area about their preparedness to resume offering routine dental care after the practice closures that were necessitated by the SARS-CoV-2 pandemic. The researchers published a study in February this year which found that the challenges that emerged during the pandemic showed that dentistry needed to adapt in order to be better prepared for future crises.

There is no doubt that the past year has been a challenge for most businesses. It’s been especially hard for those in the dental industry, including dental service organisations, and group practices. With mandated closures, new infection control guidelines, an increased need for expensive personal protective equipment - operating one dental practice, let alone a group with dozens of locations, became a test of perseverance and adaptability.
