Geneva, Switzerland: Sunstar, a leader in professional oral healthcare products, has released GUM® ActiVital®, a new range of toothpaste and mouthrinse that promotes the health of teeth and gums for the long-term.

GUM® ActiVital®:
• Provides long-lasting prevention against plaque formation and dental caries thanks to a combination of fluoride and isomalt (Sunstar patented)1,2 and an innovative and effective antiplaque system without compromising the mouth’s balance for a long-term use.
• Protects oral tissues for the long-term thanks to the presence of the antioxidants Coenzyme Q10 and active components of pomegranate3-8.
• Strengthens gums and teeth with ginger and bisabolol.

GUM® ActiVital® toothpaste contributes to eliminating plaque and controlling its re-formation
Standard toothpastes contain simple silica particles supporting the mechanical removal of the oral biofilm, without preventing microorganisms to re-adhere to the tooth surface after brushing. GUM® ActiVital® toothpaste, however, is based on PlakClearTM technology that interacts electrostatically with the mainly anionic shells of microorganisms and the lipopolysaccharides of the microbial cell wall. Thanks to the electrostatic complex and hydrophobic bonds formed with the microorganisms, this innovative antiplaque agent prevents them from re-attaching to enamel and dentin9,10.

GUM® ActiVital® mouthrinse inhibits plaque regrowth for prevention of early signs of gingivitis
LAE, the antiplaque agent contained in GUM® ActiVital® mouthrinse, prevents bacteria from attaching to the tooth surface and re-establishing a biofilm, thanks to the formation of a protective barrier on the teeth11. The microbial burden is decreased allowing gums to maintain a healthy state.

A highly safe profile and gentle formula for long-term use
Unlike standard oral care products available on the market, which contain triclosan, cetylpyridinium chloride or chlorhexidine, the GUM® ActiVital® range presents an optimal antibacterial and antiplaque action tailored for people without any particular oral care problems. The products’ gentle formulas include natural ingredients, respect the oral flora balance, do not stain teeth and do not affect the taste. GUM® ActiVital® can be used in a prolonged manner and are free of sulfates (SLS), alcohol and parabens. The efficacy of the innovative technology behind the GUM® ActiVital® products is supported by scientific evidence.
