The EssenSeal® is a new generation zinc oxide eugenol sealer featuring tea tree essential oil (Melaleuca) and composed of a powder base and a liquid catalyst.

A new generation of root canal sealer engineered and manufactured by the Swiss endodontic company PD (Produits Dentaires SA) enables more effective root canal sealing to limit the development of residual bacteria and prevent any resumption of infection owing to its unique formula featuring tea tree essential oil (Melaleuca).

PD believes that outstanding sealing is a fundamental step of root canal treatment. EssenSeal^®, introduced by PD at IDS 2019, belongs to the zinc oxide eugenol family. ZOE filling materials are recognized for their numerous properties essential for ensuring the long‐term success of a root canal therapy.

EssenSeal^® is simple to manipulate, highly flowable to deliver perfect three-dimensional sealing, has excellent physico‐chemical properties and an extremely pleasant tea tree scent. Just like the other zinc oxide eugenol products in the PD range, EssenSeal^® has a very small volumetric change on setting, it is thixotropic and due to a very small particle size penetrates easily the root canal anatomy and provides remarkable covering of the entire root canal walls.

Its exceptional chemical properties guarantee a working time superior of 60 minutes and a setting time lower than 3 hours.

An additional asset of EssenSeal^® is its ease of use. Designed to simplify obturation procedures EssenSeal^® mixing ratio is as simple as 1 drop of liquid to 1 spoon of powder. The simple mixing procedure ensures optimum consistency in every application. Its vial format with a capacity of 15g powder and 10ml liquid offers a perfect cost-efficient solution for dental professionals.
