Align Technology strengthens regional footprint with the appointment of new MEA general manager

Align Technology announced the appointment of Angelo Maura as general manager for the MEA (Middle East and Africa) region. Bringing with him a wealth of experience in the medical device business, sales, marketing and R&D, Angelo will be stepping into his new role as general manager for the MEA region following a track record of eight years with Align Technology across three regions. Previously general manager, general practitioner channel in Italy, Angelo has held various roles, including director of global marketing, regional sales manager, international product manager.

Prior to his roles at Align Technology, Angelo also worked at Johnson & Johnson and Stryker in local and regional marketing roles.

Based in Dubai, Angelo will be a key contributor to the business by expanding and developing internal operations and maintaining strong relationships with stakeholders and clients to ensure business growth across the Middle East and Africa. With a master’s degree in Medical Engineering, Angelo is well placed to bring a plethora of relevant experience and insights to the role.

Commenting on his new role, Angelo Maura said: “I am delighted to begin my new role within the MEA market. In this new role, Angelo succeeds Mawlid Chaoui. Having successfully led the business in the region for the last four years, Mawlid will now represent the EMEA region as senior director, iTero scanners and services.
