Dr. Mollova, a dedicated professional in dental care, talks with Kirill Levin, Group Vice President of the Eastern Group Regional Commercial Organization (RCO) at Dentsply Sirona, about key topics in dental care. This interview focuses on innovation, education, and sustainability, as well as Dentsply Sirona’s role in shaping the future of dentistry, all within the context of DS World.
Kirill, thank you for your time. Welcome! Could you share a bit about your role at Dentsply Sirona and what excites you most about working with such an innovative company? What drives you personally in your role at Dentsply Sirona, and what message would you like to share with dental professionals attending DS World this year?
I have had a long journey with Dentsply Sirona over the past 14 years and I strongly believe that joining the company was the choice of my lifetime. What excites me most about working with Dentsply Sirona is being part of a company that consistently pushes the boundaries of innovation in dentistry. From cutting-edge technologies to comprehensive workflows, we’re transforming how dental professionals deliver care, making treatments more efficient and patient-focused in ways that meet and even exceed the expectations of our customers. Knowing that our work positively impacts millions of patients worldwide is incredibly rewarding. The combination of shared purpose and core values makes it a pleasure to be a part of this.
Recently, I took on the responsibility for distribution partner management in the EMEA region in addition to my other duties. This position is giving me new insights into the unique aspects of each market. To the attendees of DS World, I would like to say first and foremost thank you – for taking the time to participate in the event and for placing your trust in us. This third edition of DS World in Dubai is part of our commitment to the region and to our dedication to empowering local dental professionals with the education and solutions needed to not only keep pace with but to be on the forefront of digital dentistry.
How would you describe the significance of DS World for both Dentsply Sirona and the global dental community? What do you think sets DS World apart from other industry events.
DS World is more than just an event—it’s a celebration of innovation, education, and collaboration in dentistry. Dental professionals value this: In 2024, our DS World event series included roughly 7,700 participants across six events globally.
Offering high quality clinical education is something that we are committed to. For Dentsply Sirona, these events are an opportunity to showcase the latest advancements in our comprehensive product portfolio and connect with professionals passionate about elevating dental care. For the global dental community, it’s a unique space to experience the technologies and solutions shaping the future of the field firsthand. What truly sets DS World apart is its focus on fostering a sense of community, blending cutting-edge clinical education with inspiring keynote sessions and hands-on experiences that attendees can immediately apply in their practices.
One of the highlights of DS World is the cutting-edge technology. Could you share some of the key innovations or products being introduced this year, and how they aim to transform dental practices?
We are constantly innovating and working to help move dentistry forward. MENA is a key market and while we strive to offer dental professionals all of our innovations as they launch, due to the different approval and registration times, not all technologies and products are immediately available in all countries. Primescan 2 is an example of what is, from my perspective, a truly unbelievable technology that we weren’t able to offer immediately to the MENA market. However, it will be introduced soon, and I strongly believe it will help us build momentum for DS World Dubai 2026.
Instead, we focused on other strong innovations in the market such as SureSmile clear aligners Axano (a new treatment center we are really proud of), and, more broadly, cloud solutions such as DS Core. If you look into cloud technology in detail, it’s incredible how it creates freedom—you are no longer tied to a specific location.
Can you tell us more about Axano and how it represents the future of treatment centers in dentistry? How does this new generation of fully digital, integrated technology improve collaboration between dentists and patients?
Well, Axano is the newest generation of our treatment centers—fully digital. It’s amazing because when I first joined Dentsply Sirona many years ago, I already saw our previous chairside solutions as breakthrough technology. At that time, it felt like rocket science—like sitting in a plane, ready to take off on a new journey.
But when we talk about this generation of treatment centers, they facilitate communication with the patient as it is built into the workflow with Axano. Intraoral images, 3D X-ray images or videos can be visualized directly at the treatment center thanks to the integrated camera and monitor. As a dentist, you and your patient begin your collaboration in a single room, with all the equipment seamlessly integrated to support your work. It provides all the possibilities to clearly communicate—what’s happening, what the issue is, and how it can be solved. It’s incredibly intuitive, and the technology speaks for itself. From my perspective, it’s truly unbelievable.
Axano can also be individually configured via the touch display and the dentist and assistant elements as well as the tray can be positioned independently of each other and allow flexible switching between team and stand-alone treatment. These features make it adaptable to any practice––it is a true one-size-fits-all innovation.
Education is a cornerstone of DS World. How does Dentsply Sirona ensure that dental professionals attending the event gain valuable knowledge and skills to advance their practices? What are the highlighted topics this year?
Education is at the heart of DS World. We ensure attendees gain valuable knowledge through hands-on workshops, interactive sessions, and expert-led clinical training tailored to their needs. This year’s highlighted topics include advancements in digital workflows, implantology, orthodontics, and minimally invasive dentistry. Additionally, we’re addressing emerging trends like patient-centric care and sustainability in dental practices. Our goal is to equip dental professionals with the skills and insights they need to stay ahead in a rapidly evolving industry.
Sustainability is becoming a priority in every industry. How is Dentsply Sirona contributing to more sustainable practices in dentistry?
We’re determined to drive the change for our industry – and to meet the sustainability goals outlined in our sustainability program known as BEYOND. We feel that if we can change our mindset as a company, as employees, and help share the knowledge and tools with dental professionals to be more sustainable, then that leads to a shift in mindset as well, and it will have an impact. One area in which we have made a commitment is in packaging – we strive to make all our packaging recyclable by 2030.

Looking ahead, what do you see as the most transformative trends in dentistry over the next decade, and how is Dentsply Sirona preparing to lead the way?" Do you consider Dentsply Sirona a leader in emerging technologies like Artificial Intelligence in dentistry? How do you see AI shaping the industry?
I strongly believe that artificial intelligence will continue to impact dentistry and become more and more integrated into diagnosis and treatment. You can’t ignore technological advancements, especially when software solutions are evolving day by day. AI should—and will—play a major role in shaping the future of dentistry.
At Dentsply Sirona we have had AI solutions integrated into our software offerings for years. AI algorithms run in the background of the SureSmile Simulator, and DS has had AI-trained algorithms in CEREC and in-lab software for crown proposals for more than a decade. Within DS Core, AI is already present. Examples include AI powered tools of DS Core Diagnose, which we will be showcasing at IDS in Germany.
Can you highlight any key partnerships or collaborations this year and how they contribute to advancing dental care?
One of our key partnerships this year is with Siemens Healthineers. This collaboration is a great example of how Dentsply Sirona is actively seeking new global partnerships that, in the end, will lead to breakthrough innovations—like ddMRI.
For me, ddMRI truly highlights how Dentsply Sirona is open-minded and always looking for new possibilities.
It’s difficult to pinpoint every collaboration we have, as there are many exciting projects on the table, but Siemens Healthineers is, so far, one of the best examples. What makes this partnership especially significant is the collaboration between two industry giants—Siemens Healthineers, the medical giant, and Dentsply Sirona, the dental giant. This synergy has already led to tremendous innovations, and we’re excited for what’s to come!
What advice would you give to young dental professionals starting their careers in this rapidly evolving industry?
My advice to young dental professionals is to embrace continuous learning and stay curious about emerging technologies. Knowledge is critical to staying at the forefront of digital dentistry and as the field is evolving rapidly, those who are open to adopting new tools and techniques will be better positioned for success. This means attending events like DS World where you can access expertise and experience new technologies, build strong relationships within the dental community. Seek mentorship and take advantage of professional opportunities such as beta testing new solutions. Most importantly, stay patient focused – delivering exceptional care should always be the cornerstone of your practice.
