TEHRAN, Iran: On 22 and 23 May, Italian dental laser manufacturer LAMBDA held the Doctor Smile Symposium in Tehran. More than 400 participants attended the various presentations on laser dentistry and the company’s doctor smile dental laser line.

At the symposium, which was organised by the local doctor smile distributor, Almas Rouyan Pars, in collaboration with the University of Tehran, a number of speakers from Germany, Italy, the UK and the US elaborated on the benefits of dental lasers for hard- and soft-tissue procedures and the applications of laser in implantology.

In addition to various laser workshops, the event saw the signing of an agreement between the University of Genoa in Italy and the University of Tehran for the development of courses in advanced laser dentistry. The partnership was officially approved by the Iranian ministry of health.

Doctor smiles’ Export Sales Manager Alessandro Boschi stated, “For our company and the distributor, this co-operation with the university is very important, as it allows us to provide fundamental knowledge concerning our technology for working with lasers in dentistry. For this reason, we have already established fellowship courses in laser dentistry in collaboration with several academies and universities around the world.”
