TEHRAN, Iran: Dental Tribune International (DTI) has recently welcomed a new licensee partner in Iran to its global publishing network through Hans-Joachim Wolf, the owner of Wolf Group, sole representive and general manager of Dental Tribune Iran. The launch of the new Dental Tribune Iran Edition was officially announced during the 56th Exhibition and Congress of the Iranian Dental Association (EXCIDA), one of the largest dental industry and education events in the country, attracting 5,000 visitors annually, and this year held from 17 to 20 May in Tehran.

As part of the recent licensee agreement, Hans-Joachim Wolf welcomed cosmetic dentist and laser dentistry specialist Dr Alireza Majdabadi, who runs the Peris Smile Design Clinic in Tehran, and his business partner Babak Shayanfar. Initially, Dental Tribune Iran will be published in English and Persian four times a year, covering local news and business updates, as well as internationally relevant content. In addition to the newspaper, the new partner is planning to launch a local version of the Dental Tribune Study Club continuing education platform and a dental magazine in English and Persian. Furthermore, a regional website, also in Persian, at www.dental-tribune.com will keep Iranian dental professionals up to date.

The Iranian dental community has about 32,000 registered dentists and 13 dental associations nationwide. Around 3,000 dental professionals graduate annually from 60 accredited national faculties of dentistry.

Iran has the second largest health care economy in the Middle East, with an estimated gross domestic product in 2014 of US$406.3 billion. It also has the second largest population in the region, with an estimated 78.5 million people in 2014.

After the successful implementation of the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action, an international agreement on Iran’s nuclear programme that was signed in July 2015, the country will receive relief from US, European Union and United Nations Security Council nuclear-related sanctions. This is expected to boost the national economy, as it will help facilitate market access for international companies.
