DUBAI, UAE: The 2015 World Implant Orthodontic Conference (WIOC), the seventh annual meeting of the World Implant Orthodontic Association, will be held from 10 to 13 November in Dubai. The global event, which attracts clinicians and academics from around the world, will provide an update on the latest technological advances and research in the field through a comprehensive scientific programme and a congress exhibition.

The WIOC programme, which is focused on the use of temporary orthodontic anchorage devices, includes six pre-conference courses and more than 30 scientific sessions and features 40 local and international speakers. Overall, over 1,000 delegates are expected to attend the three-day event, co-sponsored by the Emirates Society of Orthodontists and the Saudi Orthodontic Society.

The conference will be hosted at the InterContinental Dubai Festival City, a luxurious five-star hotel with around 500 guest rooms and suites. Architecturally inspired by a sailboat, the hotel is located close to Burj Khalifa and the Dubai World Trade Centre.

WIOC was launched in Seoul in South Korea in 2009 and has since been held in Asia, Europe, Australia and North America. This year, it will take place in a Middle Eastern country for the first time. The UAE is one of the most developed countries in the Persian Gulf and has one of world’s highest per capita gross domestic product ratios. Dubai, in particular, attracts thousands of tourists every year. The UAE is home to more than 200 nationalities and cultures.

Online registration for the event is still open on the 2015 WIOC website, www.wioc2015.com. However, on-site registration will be available too.
