Full-arch rehabilitation course on fresh frozen human cadavers

The NUVO CEEMEA Team has completed second fresh frozen human cadaver course in Istanbul in Turkey. This fruitful course was aimed to enhance the clinical practice of dentists on full-arch rehabilitation of edentulous and terminal dentate patients. Turkish dentists Prof. Doruk Kocyigit, Prof. Dr Oguz Ozan and Dr. Tolga Pekperdahci presented both theoretical and practical sessions. 

The course was organized in Koc University Hospital, RMK AIMES Cadaver Laboratory, which is full-equipped academy for education and simulation center of surgical procedures. The technical capability and professionality of the center gave the great opportunity to achieve this course with 8 stations and 1 master table including anatomy, flap design, surgical steps and prosthetic steps which include analog and digital workflows.

15 participants from 5 different countries were welcomed in Istanbul, they had a chance to find answers to their questions and to have an interactive dialog with the educators in both sessions. The first day was theoretical lectures that deep dive into implant surgery techniques and implant placement with NUVO ConicalFIT, NUVO Portfolio aimed for immediate loading and immediate loading philosophy.

The course continued with the practical session that the participants worked on fresh frozen human cephalous, two participants working together to simulate the reality of surgical procedures, dissection of the arches, and steps for the immediate loading. Then fixation of the interim prosthesis and prosthetic phases which includes analog and digital impression methods via intraoral scanning were practiced. The novel product of Straumann Group, Virtuo Vivo also took part during the digital workflow session.
