Dentsply Sirona to transfer its SICAT shares to the management of SICAT

January 03, 2019

Dentsply Sirona, the world's largest manufacturer of dental products and technologies, and SICAT, provider of software and hardware solutions for the dental sector, agreed that SICAT will be taken over entirely by its management starting January 1st, 2019.

Dentsply Sirona will sell its shares of SICAT GmbH & Co. KG to HICAT GmbH, which is owned by the management and employees of SICAT. Starting today, the company will be wholly owned by SICAT management and its employees. The two companies will continue their strategic partnership, without changes for their customers. The existing SICAT products that are sold by Dentsply Sirona will continue to be offered as usual.

"Dentsply Sirona and SICAT profit from this agreement. We look back on over 14 years of a shared history in which both companies have grown. Now, we are taking our successful collaboration to a new level. This will offer each partner more flexibility in their options and put them in a better position to diversify their products individually" says Michael Geil, Managing Director at Dentsply Sirona's Bensheim site and Group Vice President of Equipment & Instruments.

"We are very pleased to have found such a good solution for the future of SICAT and to manage the company completely independently. SICAT will remain a strategic partner of Dentsply Sirona for the development of software-based solutions for X-ray imaging. We will continue our excellent collaboration, but can now focus more specifically on our customers. In addition, we are now able to offer our solution to the entire dental market" says Jochen Kusch, Managing Director, Marketing and Sales at SICAT.
